2023-2025 MGC President’s Award

Club Best Practices Award

The purpose of the award is to recognize and share changes implemented by clubs in the following areas:

  1. Streamlining specific leadership positions.
  2. Creating an ongoing increase in membership.
  3. Modifying club approach to membership that sustains involvement of aging members and/or broadens inclusion of members in the surrounding community (gender, ethnicity, working in the home or outside the home with limited time availability etc).
  4. Develops an ongoing community partnership that is visible in the community and mutually beneficial.

A best practice is a set of ideas implemented and then sustained that changes the club and makes it better.

To apply, simply complete the Club Best Practice Award application. Each award submitted will be reviewed against the scoring rubric. To receive the $50.00 award the club must score at least 90 points. If the award score is below 90 points the scoring rubric with comments will be sent to the club. Award applications may be submitted at any time throughout the MGC fiscal year June 1-May 31. A club may apply for and receive up to one award in each of the four categories during the fiscal year.

The Club Best Practice Award applications for leadership and membership will be judged by the President, 1st Vice President and the club’s District Director.

The Club Best Practice Award applications for community partnerships will be judged by the President, 2nd VP Community Affairs and the club’s District Director.

Each year a top state Club Best Practice in each of the four categories as of April 1st will be determined and the winning clubs will receive an additional $100.00. The runner up in each category will receive $50.00. The winners will be announced at the MGC Annual Conference.
