| Club Youth Engagement Award |
The purpose of this award is to recognize and share projects and activities implemented by clubs in the following areas:
- Educating Youth in aspects of Gardening, Environmental Concerns, Landscape Design or Floral Design.
- Engaging Youth in Hands-On Activities that provide experience in Gardening, Environmental Concerns, Landscape Design or Floral Design.
- Modifying club approach to partner with Youth to create sharing of skill, knowledge and
experience to foster the next generation’s involvement in Gardening, Environmental Concerns,
Landscape Design or Floral Design.
The Youth of today are the future Stewards of our MGC
Mission. Fostering Youth by sharing our knowledge and
experience is a must to achieve the brightest future for us all
To apply, simply complete the Club Youth Engagement Award application. Each award submitted will be reviewed against the scoring rubric. To receive the $50.00 award, the club must score at least 90 points. If the award score is below 90 points, the scoring rubric with comments will be sent to the club. Award application may be submitted at any time throughout the MGC fiscal year (June1-May 31). A club may apply for and receive up to one award in each of the four categories during the fiscal year.
The Club Youth Engagement Award applications will be judged by the President, 1st Vice President, and the club’s District Director.
Each year a top state Club Youth Engagement Applicant in each of the three categories will be
determined and the winning clubs will receive an additional $100.00. The winners will be announced at the MGC Annual Conference.
All club award winners will be posted on the website. A Club Youth Engagement Award area will be established in the Member Resources Area.
