Overview:
MSU Extension Staff in conjunction with the Capital Area Master Gardeners (CAMG) is holding a three-hour workshop entitled Soil Savvy: Building Better Gardens from the Ground Up, which will be held at Fenner Nature Center on Saturday, August 15th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Seating is limited to 50 participants.)
It is designed for gardening enthusiasts who are interested in soil improvement, so feel free to encourage your gardening friends to join you. This workshop will also provide 3 hours of education credit to MSU Extension Master Gardeners.
What to Expect:
* Engaging, hands-on demonstrations and activities.
* Demystifying soil testing results and how to use them.
* Essentials on compost and mulch for healthier soil.
* Take-home tips, resources, garden goodies, and complimentary refreshments.
What to Bring:
* 1–2 cups of your own garden soil for an on-site evaluation!
* Your specific gardening questions for the extension presenters.
Registration and Fees:
There is a $35 registration fee and an automatic 17% ($5.95) donation to the cost of your registration. You can reduce or not pay the donation by clicking the down arrow, selecting “other,” then changing the donation to $0.00 or any other amount.
