111th Blue Star (2024)
The River Valley Garden Club of Sawyer dedicated a Blue Star Memorial By-Way on October 12, 2024. The marker is located at Harbert Community Park, 13495-13535 Red Arrow Highway, Sawyer.
Elizabeth Palulis, President of the Garden Club, was the master of ceremony. They event was a community affair with American Legion Post 518, Pastor Jesse Bolinder, State Representative Joey Andrew, State Senator Jonathan Lindsey, Chikaming Township Supervisor David Bunte participating. All anxiously await the spring when the marker, situated in the fern garden, comes alive to honor our veterans.
