45th Blue Star (2010) and 9th Gold Star (2023)
Spirit of the Woods Garden Club of Manistee dedicated a Blue Star Memorial on May 15, 2010 and a Gold Star By-Way Memorial on June 11, 2023. The Gold Star marker is mounted on stone and sits at the base of the Blue Star marker. The markers are located at Veteran’s Memorial Park, 173 Memorial Drive, Manistee.
The Gold Star Dedication, despite gray skies, rain and unseasonably cold weather, everyone and the park’s incredible red poppies stood tall as a tribute for all casualties of war and hope for a peaceful future.
