74th Blue Star (2014) & 11th Gold Star (2024)
The Midland Garden Council, comprised of Chemical City Garden Club, Evergreen Garden Club, Great Lakes Gardeners, Midland Garden Club, and The Little Garden Club, dedicated a Blue Star Memorial on June 9, 2014. The marker is located at Dow Diamond Ball Park, 825 E. Main Street, Midland.
The Midland Garden Council magnificently redesigned the Blue Star Garden in preparation for the addition of their Gold Star Memorial, which was dedicated on June 2, 2024. The dedication was a very special tribute to Gold Star families, with a very impressive array of speakers. The family members and their loved ones were individually announced and presented with yellow roses. The emotional sentiment was high as everyone in attendance grieved for our fallen soldiers.
