24th Blue Star (2005)
The Milan Garden Club, in cooperation with the City of Milan, dedicated a Blue Star Memorial on November 11, 2005. The marker is located at Wilson Park, 89 Wabash Street, Milan.
Both the club president in 2005, Sandra Miller, and past president, Naida Albin, are to be commended for their efforts.
On November 11, 2011, the City of Milan dedicated a Veterans’ Wall at the sight of the Blue Star Memorial. The City of Milan, the Milan Garden Club, VFW, Beautification Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, and American Legion all provided support for this incredible project. The Milan Veterans’ Wall is unique as it not only includes the names of those who are deceased but anyone from Milan who honorably served in the military.
The spectacular gardens that surround the Wall are maintained by the Milan Garden Club.
