107th Blue Star (2022)
The New Era Garden Club, in cooperation with the New Era Chamber of Commerce, dedicated a Blue Star Memorial By-Way on May 30, 2022. The marker is located on southeast corner of Garfield Road and 1st Street, New Era. This area is locally referred to as Veterans Memorial Park.
The creation of Veterans Memorial Park was the joint effort of two local Eagle Scout candidates. It remains a work-in-progress. The Blue Star dedication included a Memorial Day Parade, the Pledge of Allegiance led by one of two scouts, speakers and the placement of a wreath.
