44th Blue Star (2010)
The Pleasant Ridge Garden Club dedicated a Blue Star Memorial Highway on May 8, 2010. The marker is located on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Wellesley Drive, Pleasant Ridge.
As a result of an audit of Michigan’s Blue & Gold Star markers 2023-2024, Pleasant Ridge Garden Club became aware of the sad-looking garden around their Highway marker and jumped into action. Susie Sherman-Hall applied for and received an MGC Grow & Share Grant, solicited help from club members, leveraged end-of-season sales to purchase perennials, and hired labor to help with the digging. In the spring, they plan to add annuals. What a great example of making a difference in our communities! Stay tune for updated photos.
