Traverse City 2

January 1, 2023 by

50th Blue Star (2010)

The Ma-Me-Ne-Sewong Garden Club dedicated a Blue Star Memorial By-Way on September 11, 2010.  The marker is located at Grand Traverse Pavilions, 1000 Pavilions Circle, Traverse City.

In 2023, the club spent over 100 hours enhancing the garden.  They removed the Dogwood tree and donated it to the local Botanic Garden; rejuvenated the soil with sphagnum, peat, fertilizer and new topsoil; added some new perennials; mulched; cleared sod from the flagstone wall; added a metal edge and finished with river rocks to provide a nice, clean, mowable edge.
